Early Childhood Screenings are coming up!
Multiple law enforcement agencies across Kansas, including the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, have received reports of a male with a gun in the restroom at their local high schools. Our SRO has been in contact with the Linn County Sheriff’s office And these threats have been determined to be a hoax. Out of an abundance of caution, searched Prairie View High School we are being diligent in our safety measures and determined our high school to be safe and secure. Our local law enforcement will continue to monitor the situation and our SRO will maintain a presence at the school today.
The USD 362 Board of Education is pleased to announce their choice for our next superintendent, Dr. Chris Johnson from Crane, Mo.
Please read her introduction and join us in welcoming her to the district:
I am so excited to have been selected to be the next superintendent of Prairie View USD 362. I have been in education for 29 years with 11 years of experience as a superintendent. My last 8 years have been at Crane R-III in Crane, MO, which is South of Springfield, MO about 30 minutes.
My bachelor’s degree is in Elementary Education from NWMSU and my master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from CMU. I have a specialist and PhD from University of Missouri in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
My husband and I have been married for almost 37 years. We have 2 sons that are grown and 1 grandson. We are rural farm people and love the country life! I can’t wait to meet the staff and community and get to know you. Go Buffalos!
All district buildings will be closed tomorrow morning so all of our staff can enjoy our guest speaker. If you need to reach someone please wait until after noon to call the office. We will see kids back on Tuesday.
Remember this coming Wednesday February 22 is our Father Daughter dance from 6:30 to 7:30pm in the Parker gym. Please call the school with any questions. We hope to see you there!
There will be no school today, Thursday February 16th for Prairie View. We will see all students back on Tuesday. Stay safe. Again no school today for Prairie View.
Because we anticipate low attendance in our schools and to give parents time to plan, there will be no school in Prairie View USD 362 on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023.
School will be back in session Thursday, Feb. 16th. We encourage our students, families and staff to be safe.

A reminder that tomorrow, September 21st, is a no school day for PVHS. We will be hosting the FFA Greenhand Conference for the area schools. Classes will resume on Thursday, September 22nd.
Senior Shout Out page size and payment are due on September 22, please remember you must turn in the signed sheet if you are getting a page or not.

Congratulations to Julia Paisley for earning Salutatorian honors for the Class of 2022.
Julia is the daughter of Megan Paisley. She has attended Prairie View schools from first grade through high school. In high school, she has been a member of the Community Service Club, the art club, a two-year member of the FFA, a three-year member of the basketball team, a four-year member of the volleyball team, and a four-year member of the softball team. Outside of high school, she was a four-year participant in Girl Scouts, played club volleyball for five years, and competitive softball for nine years. She will graduate with a 3.98 GPA, an ACT score of 24, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend Fort Scott Community College with plans to transfer to either Rockhurst College or the University of Kansas to play softball and pursue a degree in Business.

Congratulations to Jenna Herrstrom for earning Salutatorian honors for the Class of 2022.
Jenna is the daughter of Lynn and Marissa Herrstrom. She has attended Prairie View schools from kindergarten through high school. In high school, she has been a four-year member of the cheerleading team. Outside of high school, she has participated on a competitive dance team at the Infinity Dance Academy since she was five, participating in competitions since she was eleven. She will graduate with a 3.98 GPA, an ACT score of 20, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend Pittsburg State University to pursue a degree as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Neonatal medicine.

Congratulations to Miranda Williams for earning Valedictorian honors for the Class of 2022.
Miranda is the daughter of Stephen and Jennifer Williams. She has attended Prairie View schools from Pre-K through high school. In high school, she has been a four-year member of the cheerleading team, a four-year member of choir, a one-year member of softball, and a one-year member of the volleyball team. Outside of high school, she is an active member of the LaCygne Christian church, a tournament softball team for eight years, and has worked at Sonic for the last two years. She will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, an ACT score of 24, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Kansas to pursue a degree in the medical field.

Hallie is the daughter of Darren and Tamala Snyder. She has attended Prairie View schools from Pre-K through high school. In high school, she has participated in the Future Farmers of America, Scholar’s Bowl, National Honor Society, Mathletes, and track. Outside of high school, she is active in her church, participating in 212 Student Ministries, a Youth Group Student Worship Team, and is authoring a novel. She will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, an ACT score of 31, a Kansas Governor’s Honor Scholar, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend Baker University scholarship to pursue a degree in Marketing and pre-Law.

Jessica is the daughter of Amanda Petric. She has attended Prairie View schools from kindergarten through high school. In high school, she has been a member of Future Farmers of America, the National Honor Society, track team, and cross country team. Outside of high school, she plays softball for the Miami Express Competitive Team. She will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, an ACT score of 26, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend Neosho County Community College to pursue a degree in Athletic Training.

Caitlin is the daughter of Eddie and Christal Ingram. She has attended Prairie View schools from 6th grade through high school. In high school, she has been a two-year member of volleyball, a two-year member of the track team, a two-year member of the art club, a one-year member of journalism, and a four-year member of the cheerleading team. She will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, an ACT score of 23, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend a community college before switching to a University to pursue a degree in Digital Marketing.

Kinley is the daughter of Andy and Joyce Baker. She has attended Prairie View schools from Pre-K through high school. In high school, she has been a three-year member of the FFA, a three-year member of the National Honor Society serving as the Secretary, a three-year member of the Scholars Bowl Team, a three-year member of the Mathlete Team, a four-year participant and two-time All Pioneer League volleyball player, a four-year cheerleader, and a four-year member of the track team. Outside of high school, she plays club volleyball for the Kansas Krush, is an active member of the Parker Public Library and the First Baptist Church. She will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, an ACT score of 27, and an Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend MidAmerica Nazarene on a cheerleading scholarship to pursue a degree in Nursing.
