For the 2023-24 School Year the USD 362 Board of Education has changed their meetings day and time. The Board of Education will meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM in the Board Room at Central Office. All patrons are welcome to attend these open meetings.

Some reminders... Enrollment begins today, August 1st for all USD 362 families via Skyward. If you do not have a Skyward account, create one by visiting the pv362.org website.
August 14th is our Back to School Open House Night from 2-6pm. Meet teachers, drop off supplies, test out your locker, and get ready for that first day. Our tech integration specialist will lead an informational meeting for parents/guardians from 2-3 in the PVMS library. Plan your visit around this meeting to learn more about Skyward, Google Classroom, student iPads, and the school website. Informational tables will also be present for families interested in learning more about affordable internet connectivity and mental health services available in our area.
Parker Elementary and LaCygne Elementary have back to school nights planned for August 14th as well, from 5:30-7pm. PVHS Freshman Orientation will take place the next day, August 15th.
The first day of school is August 16th at 8:15am (even though this is a Wednesday, there is NO Late Start).

Parker Elementary's Preschool screening will be Thursday, August 3rd by appointment only. This is only for those children aged 3-5 who did not attend a screening in the spring. Please email Mrs. Davey at jdavey@pv362.org to set up an appointment.
Parker's annual "Back to School Night" will be on Monday, 8/14 from 5:30pm - 7pm. This is an opportunity to drop off supplies and meet teachers. We hope to see you there!

"I am beyond excited and honored to continue my love for education in the Prairie View School District by moving into the La Cygne Elementary Principal position. I have been in education for 12 years, with 9 of those years working as a classroom teacher and Math Instructional Coach at the elementary level in the Prairie View District. Go Buffs!
My Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Master’s in Building Leadership were obtained at Pittsburg State University.
My husband, a PV alumnus, and I also have the honor of raising our three sons in the Prairie View School District on our family farm. I am deeply invested in our fantastic community and excited about the opportunity to work together for the greater good of our students. I am PV Proud!"

"I am thrilled to join the Prairie View School District community as the principal of Prairie View High School. I am the interim principal and activities director at Ruppenthal Middle School in Russell, KS. Previously, I served as a Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) teacher and Career and Technical Education Coordinator at Council Grove Jr/Sr. High School and spent one year as an FCS teacher and cheer coach at Ulysses High School.
I have a bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Kansas State University - Go Cats!
I am a lifelong learner who was raised by two teachers. I believe in setting ambitious goals, capitalizing on individual strengths, and celebrating successes both big and small along the way. I look forward to continuing a strong school culture, supporting all students in their journey to post-secondary success, and meeting all of you!"

Dear Prairie View families,
We are excited to share with you KEEP – the Kansas Education Enrichment Program which provides students from income-qualifying households a $1,000 to spend on eligible goods and services that promote learning and facilitate academic enrichment opportunities.
Families are invited to apply for these funds at www.keep.ks.gov. There is no cost to apply or participate in the program, and parents and guardians can enroll multiple students in the household. Current income guidelines can be found on the KEEP website.
Families can spend the funds with Qualified Education Service Providers in the online KEEP Marketplace. Approved goods and services include:
Camps with academic subjects
Language classes
Instrument and Vocal lessons, including instrument purchase or rental
Tutoring Services
Curriculum materials, school supplies, and technology
Families that receive awards can manage their funds through the KEEP app, available in apps stores for both Android and IOS.
The program is provided by the State of Kansas and funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. We encourage you to visit www.keep.ks.gov to learn more about the program and apply today.

Dear Parker Parents, if your child is participating in our talent show, there is practice after school today May 15 until 4:30pm. If they are staying, they will need to be picked up promptly at 4:30pm and you will need to call the office to let Miss Carrie know they are staying. If they do not have permission to stay, they will be sent home using their regular mode of transport. This is only for students that have already signed up for the talent show previously and attended auditions or spoke with Mrs Wilcox. The talent show is on Friday, May 19th at 9am

PVMS Families, 6th and 7th grade students are starting to look at scheduling for next year. Mrs. Prothe met with students yesterday and today to go over scheduling and they should be coming home with a sheet for parents/guardians to look at and sign. These sheets should be returned to their advisory teachers. Please ask your student about this sheet and if you have questions, please reach out to the PVMS office. Thank you!

The Board of Education approved a change to the end of the school year. The last day of school for students will be May 19th, 2023.

There is now a board member vacancy for Prairie View USD 362, in District #3. If you are a qualified elector of Prairie View USD 362 (at least 18 years of age, registered to vote, and reside in USD 362 boundary) you may seek to fulfill the vacant position. Please submit a letter of interest to Kylee Capp, board clerk, at 13799 KS Hwy 152, LaCygne KS 66040. Interested parties will be interviewed in open session during a board meeting.
