Academic Guidance for College Athletics
More and more of our students are interested in participating in college athletics. Please schedule a time to meet with our counselor to build a comprehensive plan on how to help you achieve your goals, but here are some resources that can help you navigate the process.
1. There are two main governing bodies in college athletics, the NCAA and NAIA. Each have their own requirements in order to meet initial eligibility guidelines. Here is a link that helps explain the difference between the two organizations:

2. In order to be eligible to receive a scholarship to an NCAA institution you must earn a minimum of a 2.3 GPA in 16 core classes. Those 16 classes must include the following:
4.0 Credits of English
3.0 Credits of Math
2.0 Credits of Science
1.0 Additional credit of English or Math or Science
2.0 Credits of Social Science
4.0 Additional credits of English or Math or Science or Social Science or Foreign Language
